Oberlin-Funeral service for Michael Frank Pitre, 48, will be held at 10 A.M. on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Rev. Jacob S. Conner will officiate. Burial will follow in Green Oak Cemetery under the direction of Allen Parish Funeral Home-Oberlin Chapel.
The family will receive visitors at Allen Parish Funeral Home, 119 South 7th Street, from 2-10 P.M. on Wednesday, June 4, 2014. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 P.M. Visitation will continue on Thursday morning from 8 A.M. until time of service.
Michael was born and raised in Oberlin. He was employed for several years with City Glass of Eunice and was currently working at St. Francis Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was a "jack of all trades". He enjoyed hunting and fishing . Michael was helpful to everyone. He was a loving son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish his memory include his parents, Gerdie Pitre of Oberlin and Frank Ashworth of Oakdale; three sons, Wesley M. Pitre and wife, Brittany, Addison B. Pitre, and Jordy B. Pitre, all of Oberlin; five brothers, Darrell Pitre of Oberlin, Brett Pate and wife, Heather, of Abilene, TX, Chad Pate of Oberlin, Todd Ashworth of California, and Rex Ashworth; three sisters, Angie Fontenot and husband, Mark, of Oberlin, Dana Stanley and husband, Herbie, of Oakdale, and Katina Ashworth of Bossier; one grandchild, Landri Paige Pitre of Oberlin; and several nieces and nephews.
