Michael Ray Newman, 57, passed away peacefully at his home in Kinder, Louisiana on Friday, September 11, 2015 following a battle with cancer. A Memorial Gathering will be held to honor his life on Friday, September 18, 2015 from 4-8 p.m. at Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.
Michael, affectionately known as Mike, was born on December 21, 1957 in Lake Charles. He grew up in Benton, went to college at Northwestern in Natchitoches, and lived in Wellington, Kansas where he retired from Learjet of Wichita. He was currently employed as an aircraft mechanic at Northrop Grumman. He and his wife, Michelle, were living in Kinder. Mike was a devoted husband, father and brother. He liked football, especially the Saints and LSU. He also enjoyed hunting, the outdoors, and rock-and-roll concerts. Mike was a Harley Davidson enthusiast and thoroughly enjoyed riding his motorcycle. His memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish Mike's memory include his wife, Michelle Kay Bordelon Newman of Kinder; his son-Steven Newman and wife, Tiffany of Haysville, KS; his daughter-Jamie Newman of Lake Charles; his brother-Ed Newman and wife, Becky of Deville; his sister-Joy Newman of Newton, KS; and three grandchildren-Karagan, Reagan, and Genevieve.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents-James and Lena Newman.
