Mittie-Funeral service for Michael Hamilton, 60, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 18, 2016 at Cherry Grove Baptist Church. Rev. J.R. Dowden will officiate. Burial will be in Dry Creek Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.
The family will receive visitors at Cherry Grove Baptist Church of Mittie on Sunday, January 17, 2016 from 3-9 p.m. Visitation will resume on Monday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.
Michael was a loving father and grandfather. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and camping. He also loved his horses and dogs. He liked cooking outdoors and making homemade file' and wine. He worked in oilfield construction for many years. Michael always took time to enjoy life. He will be greatly missed.
Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Daniel Hamilton and wife, Kacey of Kinder; two brothers, Ronald Hamilton and wife, Becky of Ragley and Tony Hamilton and wife, Donna of Baton Rouge; two sisters, Brenda Hamilton of Austin, TX and Shirley Grantham and husband, Johnny of Mittie; and two grandchildren, Chloe Hamilton and Kailee Sonnier.
Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Delmer and Bessie Hamilton.
