Oberlin-Funeral Services for Michael "Bo Diddle" Marler, 57, will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Cherry Grove Baptist Church. Rev. J.R. Dowden will officiate. Burial will follow at Simmons Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.

The family will receive visitors at Cherry Grove Baptist Church on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 from 4-10 p.m. Visitation will resume on Wednesday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.

Bo Diddle was a loving son, brother, uncle and a friend to all. He enjoyed being outside, hunting, fishing, raising wild animals and gardening. He could grow just about anything. He was a great story-teller. Bo Diddle loved to whittle wood, make knives and canes. He was a friend to all and never met a stranger. Last, but not least, Bo Diddle enjoyed spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish Bo Diddle's memory include his niece, Jessica Nicole Marler of Mittie; and her four children, Mason, Jackson, Landon and Payton.

Bo Diddle is preceded in death by his parents, Phillip and Anna Marler; and one sister, Charlene "Sissy" Marler.
