Reeves-Funeral service for Merlin "Lin" Keys Miller Jr., 66, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 21, 2017, at The Family Place Church of Reeves. Rev. Glen Ducharme and Rev. Don Barrett will officiate. Burial will follow in Creel Memorial Gardens under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.
The family will receive visitors at The Family Place Church from 4-9 p.m. Thursday, April 20, 2017. Visitation will resume on Friday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.
Lin was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He was a Deacon at The Family Place Church. He accepted Christ as his Savior when he was a child. Lin loved to hunt and fish. He enjoyed working his cows and riding his motorcycle. He especially loved spending time with his family. Lin did dozer work for eighteen years from which he retired. He then went to work at Westvaco until he found out his battle with cancer would begin again. Lin was a man of strong faith and was very involved in The Family Place Church where he was a lifelong member. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish Lin's memory include his wife, Jedonne Simmons Miller of Deridder; one daughter, Brandy Hebert and husband, Justin, of Deridder; two brothers, Luther Miller and wife, Pat, of Ragley, and Bill Miller and wife, Marcia, of Kinder; three sisters, Elaine Johnson and husband, Bob, of Reeves, Frances Pourteau and husband, Charles "Shot" of Westlake, and Linda Wilson and husband, Kevin, of Princeton, IN; two grandchildren, Hayley and Trudy Hebert.
Lin is preceded in death by his parents, Merlin and Ruby Miller.
