Kinder-Celebration of Life services honoring Melinda Garrett Lawrence, 48, will be held at 11 o'clock a.m. on Friday, August 2, 2024, at Glad Tidings Church in Lake Charles. Rev. Paul Burke will officiate. Melinda will be laid to rest at Green Oak Cemetery in Kinder immediately following her services.

Melinda's family will receive friends and visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder on Thursday evening, August 1, 2024, from 5-9 o'clock p.m. Melinda's visitation will resume at Glad Tidings Church in Lake Charles on Friday morning, August 2, 2024, from 9 o'clock a.m. until time of service. All of Melinda's arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder.

Melinda was a loving wife, mother, and sister. She was a devoted wife to her husband Joseph Lawrence for 28 years. She was a member of Glad Tidings Church in Lake Charles where she attended church regularly. Melinda enjoyed spending time with her family and loved raising her boys. She was a woman of God and enjoyed studying the word of God.  Melinda loved the outdoors where she enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing with her husband and two boys. She was a very kind and caring person and will be forever missed and unconditionally loved by all who knew her. Melinda has gone home to be with the Lord whom she served faithfully.

Those left to cherish Melinda's memory include her husband, Roy "Joseph" Lawrence; two sons, Trenton, and Colton Lawrence; her parents, Sam and Melta "Mel" Garrett; one brother, Sam Garrett Jr. and wife Sno; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Melinda is preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents.
