Elton-A Mass of Christian Burial for Maurice Gobert 76, will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church. Rev. Jose Vattekunnel will officiate. Maurice will be peacefully laid to rest at Chretien Cemetery in Elton under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.

The family will receive visitors on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Elton from 8 a.m. until time of service. The Holy Rosary will be prayed at 9:30 a.m.

Maurice was an avid outdoorsman and spent much of his time gardening, fishing, hunting and listening to zydeco music. However, his greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed "spoiling" them, making them laugh and bragging about all of their accomplishments. Maurice was a devoted husband to his wife, Aurelia for 55 years. He was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church until his health wouldn't allow him to attend like he wanted.  He was one of a kind and will be truly missed by those who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish Maurice's memory include his wife Aurelia Gobert of Elton; three sons, Norman Gobert of Elton, Morris Gobert and wife, Amy of Elton, and Steven Gobert and wife, Jean of Elton; one sister, Juanita Gobert of Basile; one brother, Nolan Gobert and wife, Theresa of Elton; seven grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Maurice is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Felicia Gobert; three brothers Paul Gobert, Jr, Lawrence Gobert and Felician Gobert; one sister, Florence Moss; and one daughter, Jeanette Gobert.

Pallbearers honored to serve will be Raymond Gobert, Ronnie Cormier, Horace Edwards, Phillip Gobert, Darryl Gobert, Kevin Gobert, and Mark Ardoin. Honorary pallbearer honored to serve will be Aaron Gobert.
