Kinder-Funeral services for Maureen "Sis" Young, 78, will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, January 31, 2022 at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder. Rev. Alfred Gibson will officiate. Burial will follow at Creel Memorial Gardens under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.

The family will receive visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home on Sunday, January 30, 2022 from 4-9 p.m. Visitation will resume on Monday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.

Sis was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a loving wife to her husband, Wayne, for fifty-five years until his passing in 2015. Her dog, Luna, was her pride and joy. Sis enjoyed cooking, baking, keeping up with everyone on Facebook and most of all spending time with her family. She enjoyed going to church at the Reeves Bible Church, as well as helping with Awana's and meals when she was able. Sis will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish Sis' memory include her two sons, Billy young and wife, Renae, of Deridder and Jimmy Young and wife, Sissy, of Reeves; one daughter, Marlena Dougharty and husband, Robby, of Deridder; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Sis is preceded in death by her parents, Nathan "Bea" and Lou Parker; husband, Wayne Young; one brother, Bill Parker; and one sister, Evon Higginbotham.
