Elton-Funeral service will be held for Mathilda Manuel, age 96, on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at 10am in St. Paul Catholic Church of Elton. Rev. Marshall Boulet will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Elton.
The family will receive visitors beginning on Monday, April 8, 2013 from 3-9pm in Ardoin Funeral Home of Elton, with a rosary being recited at 7pm. Visitation will continue on Tuesday morning from 8am until time of service.
Mathilda was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church of Elton and served on the Ladies Altar Society. She enjoyed baking sweet dough pies and cooking. She loved taking care of her family and was a loving mom, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Survivors include her two sons-Del Manuel and wife, Linda of Lake Charles and John Manuel and wife, Margery of Lafayette; six grandchildren-Elizabeth and Joseph, Nicole, Lauren, Rachel and Walter; and nine great grandchildren-Reilyn, Luke and Patrick, William, Emma and Thomas, Alaura, Zoe and Colin.
Mathilda is preceded in death by her husband, Abraham Manuel; her parents, Felicia and Onezime "Jim" Brown; one daugher, Linda Manuel Senette; and two sisters, Aminthe and Felicion.
