Elton-Funeral service for Mary Soileau, 75, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 31, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Rev. Jose Vattakunnel will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Elton.
The family will receive visitors at St. Joseph Catholic Church from 9 a.m. until time of service with the Holy Rosary at 12 noon.
Mary was a loving sister, mother, and grandmother. She was a woman of strong faith who believed in prayer. Mary was a great cook and cooked at Kinder High School in the cafeteria for fifteen plus years. She was a CNA at Jennings Nursing Home for ten years. Mary enjoyed spending time with her family. She enjoyed gardening when she was younger. She loved to knit. Mary was a lifelong resident of Elton and St. Joseph Catholic Church. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish Mary's memory include her three sons, John Soileau, David Soileau, and Reginald Soileau all of Elton; three brothers, Joseph Eaglin and wife, Ruth, of Bowie, Md, Robert John Eaglin of Kinder, George Eaglin of Opelousas; two sisters, Mary Ethel Freeman and husband, Charles, of Elton, Eugena Marie Fuselier and husband, Loyd, of Kinder; and one grandchild, Jami Richard of Eunice.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Homer Eaglin and Ethel Jeffrey; husband, Leroy Soileau; and two brothers, Joseph Gabriel Eaglin and Home Eaglin Jr.
