Oberlin-A Mass of Christian Burial for Mary Jane Schexneider, 76, will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Father Pradeep Gali will officiate. Burial will follow at Durio Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.

The family will receive visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oberlin on Monday, October 10, 2022 from 5-9 p.m. with the Holy Rosary being prayed at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume Tuesday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.

Mary was a loving sister, aunt and friend to many. Throughout her life she worked at Lucy's Café, Ardoins Dairy Queen, St. Francis Nursing Home and Oberlin Inn hotel. She never met a stranger and enjoyed meeting new people through her jobs. Mary will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish Mary's memory include her five brothers, Lawrence Schexneider of Morse, Larry Schexneider of Oberlin, Dudley Schexneider of Oberlin, Alfred Schexneider, Jr., of FL, and T-Boy Broussard of Abbeville; four sisters, Joyce Bellard of Oberlin, Rose Mary Brown of Opelousas, Odelia B. Simoneaux of Abbeville and Laura Welch of Crowley; as well numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary is preceded in death by her foster parents, Leon and Delia Durio; three sisters, Dianna Durio, Joann Broussard and Mary Ann Courville; and three brothers, Wilbert, Robert and Jimmy Schexneider.
