Elton-Celebration of Life services honoring Mary Etta Pollard, 81, will be held at 11 o’clock a.m. on Wednesday morning, May 6, 2026, at Ardoin Funeral Home of Elton. Rev. Clifford Hill Sr. will officiate. Mary will be laid to rest at Eternal Rest in Elton, LA immediately following her services.
Mary’s family will receive friends and visitors at Ardoin Funeral Home of Elton on Wednesday morning, May 6, 2026, from 8 o’clock a.m. until time of service. All of Mary’s arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ardoin Funeral Home of Elton.
Mary was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend. She loved the Lord with all her heart and was a member of Golden Chain Baptist Church in Elton where she attended church regularly. She was very active in her church where she was the church Secretary, taught vacation bible school, and visited the elderly and shut ins. Mary was a lifelong resident of Elton and a graduate of Elton High School. After graduating high school, she went to technical college where she attended two years of business school. Mary was very talented and enjoyed working with her hands. She was excellent at sewing, knitting, and crocheting. Mary was a loving and caring person and was loved by all her family and friends.
Those left to cherish Mary’s memory include one brother, Rodney Tims and wife Beverly of Fort Worth, TX; two sisters, Margaret Capers of Seattle, WA, and Ella Hill and husband Clifford of Havana, FL; and host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Hayes, and Ola Pollard; and three brothers, Patrick Tims, Hayes Pollard Jr., and Robert Charles Pollard.
Mary’s family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the Kinder Retirement and Rehabilitation Center and all their wonderful staff, Brighton Bridge Hospice, and Georgiana Soileau Simon.
