Oberlin- Funeral service for Ms. Mary Emily Manuel, 95, will be held Thursday, April 10, 2008 at 2 PM in St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Oberlin. Father Michael Barras will officiate. Burial will be in Oberlin Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.
Visitation will begin on Thursday in New Beginnings Assembly of God Church from 10 AM till time of service. There will be scripture reading at 11 AM followed by a Rosary. Mrs. Manuel died on Tuesday in Lake Charles. She was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church and served on the Ladies Altar Society. She was a native of Mamou and later moved to Oberlin where she lived as a life-long resident.
Mrs. Manuel is preceded in death by her husband Tancy Manuel and one son Joseph Rayford Manuel. She is survived by one son, John Manuel of Oberlin; two daughters, Sally Pitre and Jenny Cooley, both of Oberlin; three sisters, Louise Perron of Lafayette, Annabelle Ardoin of Mamou, and Elma Courman of Arizona; 13 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
