Kinder-Funeral service for Mary Lee Fontenot, 83, of Reeves will be held on Monday, July 3, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Kinder Bible Church, Rev. Don Barrett will officiate. Burial will follow in Creel Memorial Gardens. Mary's family will receive visitors at Kinder Bible Church on Sunday, July 2, 2023, from 5 to 9 p.m. Visitation will resume on Monday morning from 9 a.m. until time of service. All arrangements have been entrusted to Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.
Mary Lee, affectionately known as "NaNa" was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Shelton, for 65 years. Mary Lee was a woman of tremendous faith and a devoted member of Kinder Bible Church. She was a proud Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School teacher, Good News Club leader, and member of The Gideons International Women's Auxiliary. Mary Lee was a very kind and caring person whose home was always open, especially at lunch time. In her spare time, Mary Lee loved to read and crochet, but most of all she enjoyed tending to people. She loved and adored her family especially all her grandchildren whom she loved to spoil. She was a wonderful cook, and her family loved her roast and her home-made Christmas Eve cinnamon rolls. Mary will be forever missed and unconditionally loved by all who knew her.
Those left to cherish Mary Lee's memory include her husband, Shelton Fontenot of Reeves; two daughters, Cindy Parker and husband, Roddy of Reeves and Donna Rogers and husband Steve of Reeves; one son, Brian Fontenot and wife, Penny of Reeves; one sister, Frankie Perkins of Reeves; seven grandchildren, Lenny Parker and wife, Laura of Reeves, Daniel Rogers and wife, Kelsey of Okinawa, Japan, Miriam deLaunay and husband, Eric of Reeves, Joel Rogers and wife, Kelli of Georgetown, Texas, Tressa Rogers of Moss Bluff, Amber Davenport and husband,Erik of The Colony, Texas, and Justin Fontenot and wife, Amber of Reeves; 13 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mary Lee is preceded in death by her parents, Talmadge and Grace Knight.
