Kinder-Funeral service for Mary Cole, 78, will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 11 a.m. at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. Rev. Carlos Garcia will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.
The family will receive visitors at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church on Saturday, September 14, 2013 from 8 a.m. until time of service. A rosary will be recited by
Deacon Roy Nash at 10 a.m.
Mary was a lifelong resident of Kinder. She was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. She retired from Kinder High School with almost 50 years of service. Mary and her husband, Mr. Luke, worked hard over the years to provide for their family. Mary was a devoted wife of 55 years, a loving mom and grandmother. She enjoyed the outdoors and gardening. She also loved listening to Zydeco music. Her granddaughter, Stephanie, described her grandmother as "the strongest woman of God I ever knew". She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her sons, Luke Cole, Jr. (Earline) and Joseph Cole (Shirley), all of Jennings, James and Vinson Cole of Kinder, and John Cole (Patricia) of Houston, TX; two brothers, Joseph Eaglin and Leonard Eaglin, both of Kinder; one sister, Mable Deville (Joseph) of Kinder; ten grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Luke Cole, Sr.; one daughter, Mary E. Cole; and her parents, Patrick and Camille Eaglin.
