Revs. Brad Perkins and Greg Willis will officiate. Cindy will be laid to rest at Osborne Cemetery in Plainview immediately following her services.

Cindy's family will receive friends and visitors at Bethel Baptist Church in Plainview, on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. All of Cindy's arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale.

Mary, affectionately called "Cindy" by all who knew her was a loving wife, mother and friend. In 1966, Cindy married the love of her life, Sherman Ashworth. Cindy and Sherman spent the next 57 years building an amazing life together. Cindy and Sherman had two children, Sherwin and Sherron, whom they truly loved raising. Cindy enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports such as basketball, softball, and baseball over the years. She also enjoyed sitting in her rocking chair on the porch listening to music and cooking outdoors with her family and friends.

In 2009, Cindy reached her well-deserved retirement when she retired from Boise Cascade in Deridder after 40 years of hard work as an accountant. She spent her retirement drinking coffee, reading books, watching home improvement television shows, cooking, watching hummingbirds and squirrels, and waiting for her beloved grandchildren to get off the school bus every day.

Cindy was an amazing cook and owned a seafood restaurant when she was younger. Her Thanksgiving dressing, gumbo, and Christmas candy are only a few of the favorite foods she will be remembered for.

Cindy was very intelligent and excelled in any endeavor she took on. She was exceptional with numbers "real math" and designed every square inch of her dream home that she and Sherman shared. Cindy has now changed her address to "the streets of gold" in Heaven and will be forever missed and unconditionally loved by everyone who knew her on this side of Heaven.

Those left to cherish Cindy's memory include her husband, Sherman Ashworth; one daughter, Sherron Ashworth; ex-son in law, Darrell W. Harrison; three brothers, Clifton, Bill, and Henry Paul Winn; and six grandchildren, Ashtyn, Dallas, Ryan, Alex, Kelsey and Zach.

Cindy is preceded in death by her father, James Winn; her mother, Odile Jordan; and her son, Sherwin "Casper" Ashworth.

Cindy's family would like to extend a very sincere thank you to Brighton Bridge Hospice including Kelsey Willis, Anna Doyle, Chassie Marcantel, Greg Willis and Dr. Thomas Davis. Also, a sincere thank you to everyone who helped our family care for Cindy, including, Sue Leonard, Yvonne Maricle, Juanita Ash, Evy Lou Ashworth, Summer Ashworth, Heather Ashworth, Delisa Willis and Felicia Wilson.
