Kinder-Graveside services for Mary Christine "Chris" Edmonds, 65, of Chicago, IL will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at Green Oak Cemetery. Rev. Mike Riggs will officiate. All arrangements have been entrusted to Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.

Chris was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, sister, aunt and friend. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Ralph, for thirty-eight years. Chris was the perfect example of a woman that truly loved God and her family. Her light shown like a beacon in every way imaginable. Chris will be terribly missed; but there is comfort in knowing that she is with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She worked hard as a teacher for thirty-eight years. This included being a missionary teacher, school teacher, and a Sunday school teacher. She was a wonderful example of a mother figure and role model for many children in a primarily Latino and Puerto Rican community in which she served as a missionary alongside her husband. Chris enjoyed cooking, spending time with her family and traveling, especially to the beach. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish Chris's memory include her husband, Ralph Edmonds of Chicago, IL; two sons, Zachary Edmonds and wife, Janice, and their dog, Apollo, of Chicago, IL and Jared Edmonds of Chicago, IL; mother, Mary Virginia Lawrence of Oberlin; two sisters, Karen Marcantel and husband, Julian, of Oberlin, and Vicki Wolfe and husband, Derrick, of Wesson, MS; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and friends from both Chicago and Louisiana.

Chris is preceded in death by her father, George E. Lawrence.
