Martha was born to Curtis and Ruth Seaman in Oakdale on February 12, 1943.  After graduating in 1961 from Oakdale High School, she met her husband, James Leo Dousay, and together they made their home in Sulphur, Louisiana before eventually moving to Alexandria, Louisiana.  Martha loved people and doing for others.  She was extremely talented at most everything she did.  Many afternoons with her dog at her side, Martha could be found playing the piano and singing.  She was also skilled at sewing and painting.  She went to Cosmetology school and was considered one of the best hairdressers in Alexandria.  She opened her own shop, Martha's Glam-A-Rama.   Later in life, she moved to Lafayette where she began gardening and became a master at this skill, eventually becoming a member of the local Hibiscus Society.  Martha will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish Martha's memory include her son, Ronald Louis Dousay and wife, Sandra, of Foley, Alabama; one daughter, Jennea Dousay Schexnayder and husband, Stephen, of Lafayette, Louisiana; three grandchildren, Jared Hunsucker of Tyler, Texas, Joshua Hunsucker of Beech Mountain, North Carolina, and Amy Dousay Pharis and husband, Lou, of Denver, Colorado ; two step grandchildren, Nathan Turnage of Foley, Alabama and Brooke Schexnayder of Lafayette, Louisiana; and two great grandchildren, Amelia Suire and Stella Torian.

Martha is preceded in death by her parents, Curtis and Ruth Bass Seaman; her husband, James Leo Dousay; and her brother, James Seaman.
