Kinder-Mark Stephen Karam, born June 29, 1958, passed to his eternal home from complications of a stroke on January 1, 2024, surrounded by his loving brother, sisters and many members of his family. A Mass of Christian Burial honoring Mark will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at 11 o'clock a.m. at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Kinder. Rev. Fr. Alan Trouille will officiate. Mark will be laid to rest at Carter Memorial Cemetery in Kinder immediately following his services.

Mark's family will receive friends and visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder on Saturday morning, January 6, 2024, from 9 o'clock a.m. until time of service with the Holy Rosary being prayed at 10 o'clock a.m.  All of Mark's arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder.

Mark graduated from Kinder High School in 1976, and then attended Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana, graduating with a degree in Petroleum Engineering. After working in the oil industry for several years, he attended the University of Tulsa Law School and received his JD degree. With an impeccable work ethic, he practiced various aspects of engineering and law in the ensuing years, and for the past several years worked as an immigration lawyer with the Abrusley Law firm in Oakdale, Louisiana. Mark was truly a remarkable person. He could converse on any topic and sincerely enjoyed meeting new people, always treating everyone he met with respect. He enjoyed fishing, handicapping horse races, and following all aspects of sports. He was especially proud and spoke lovingly of his son Anthony Albert Karam who is a student at Texas A&M University.

Mark is survived by his mother Georgia Attrep Karam; one son, Anthony Albert Karam; one brother, Albert G Karam M.D. (Mary Emma); two sisters, Carolyn Anne Karam Khoury (Eli) and Mary Jude Karam Antoon (Richard); 18 nieces and nephews; 14 great nieces and nephews; and literally hundreds of cousins.

Mark is preceded in death by his father Albert Karam; and one sister, Susan Genevieve Karam.
