Reeves- Funeral service for Mr. Mark Stephen Chaney, Sr, 53, will be Friday, April, 9, 2010 at 10 AM in Palestine Baptist Church in Grant, La. Bro. Don Barrett will officiate. Burial will follow in Palestine Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.

Visitation will be held in Palestine Baptist Church and will begin on Thursday, from 2 to 10 PM and will continue on Friday from 8 AM till time of service.

Mr. Chaney was a resident of Reeves. Mark entered heaven peacefully at home, surrounded by his loved ones. Mark was a 1974 graduate of East Beauregad High School where he received the Agricultural and Principal's awards. He was a gifted musician and welder, who loved sharing his talents with others. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Shelley Chaney; four daughters, Leslie Simmons and husband Kelton of Dry Creek, Amanda Romero and husband Kasey of Kinder, Sarah Chaney of Cleveland, TX and Callie Chaney of Vidor, TX; two sons, Stephen Chaney and wife Casey of Kinder, and Zach Marshall of Vidor, TX; three brothers, Allen Chaney and wife LaNell of Dry Creek, Ed Chaney and wife Denise of DeRidder, and Joe Chaney and wife Linda of Mittie; two sisters, Loretta Chaney of Reeves and Marsha Jurquet and husband Gilbert of Dry Creek; and 4 grandchildren, Bradley, Tyler, Trevyn and Brinley. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Effie Chaney and two brothers, Leroy Chaney, Jr. and Spencer Chaney. Words of comfort may be left for the family at www.ardoinfuneralhome.com.
