Oakdale-Graveside services honoring Marjorie Yvonne Banks, 78, will be held on Sunday morning, April 13, 2025 at 11 o'clock a.m. at Davis Crossing Cemetery in Glenmora. All of Marjorie's arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale.
Marjorie Yvonne Banks was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved spending time with her family. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren held a very special place in her heart, whom she adored. She was a loving wife to her husband, Larry Banks, until his passing on March 2, 2023. She was also very passionate about sewing, quilting, and crocheting. Marjorie was a very loving, compassionate, caring person and will be forever missed and unconditionally loved by all who knew her.
Those left to cherish Marjorie's memory include her son, Robert James Banks and wife Kristi; three daughters, Renee McArthur and husband Vernon, Linda Strother and husband Billy, Lisa Ethridge and husband Don; one brother, Kenneth Stokes; two sisters, Martha Andries, Elizabeth Ann Brown; eight grandchildren, Kayla Maricle and husband Dayton, Jessie Strother, Billy Jr. and wife Destiny, Dusty Strother (Lacey), Anna Ethridge and husband Judah Morris, Kirkland Banks and wife Peyton, Molly Banks, Jamilyn Banks; sixteen great grandchildren, Cameron Carriker, Hayden Carriker, Hunter Dauzat, Taylor Fuller, Logan Maricle, Gage Fuller, Jaycee Fuller, Jaylen Strother, Corleigh Marcile, Harlee Strother, Bryce Fuller, Brylee Fuller, Camreigh Maricle, Axle Strother, Raylee Strother, Georgia Kate Morris, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Marjorie is preceded in death by her parents, James and Loree Stokes; her husband, Larry K. Banks; one brother, John K. Stokes; one grandson, Gatlin Carriker; one granddaughter, Allie McKay Ethridge; and one great grandson, Kayson Briggs Strother.
Pallbearers honored to serve include Billy Strother Jr. (BJ), Dustin Strother, Hunter Dauzat, Logan Maricle, Hayden Carriker, Dayton Maricle, and Gage Fuller.
