Elton-Funeral services for Marion Joseph Pickett, 70, will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, February 19, 2016, in the chapel of Ardoin Funeral Home of Elton. Deacon Mike Guillory will officiate.
The family will receive visitors at Ardoin Funeral Home of Elton on Thursday, February 18, 2016, from 3-9 p.m. The Holy Rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume on Friday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.
Marion was a loving father and grandfather. He was a hard- working, strong-willed person with a gentle heart. Marion loved spending time with his family and always had an "open ear". He loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and barbequing. He also enjoyed doing mechanic work in his shop. Marion will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Those left to cherish Marion's memory include his son, Aaron Pickett and wife, Megan, of Elton; one daughter Cheryl Landry and husband, Darren, of Katy, TX; four brothers, Henry Pickett and wife, Anna Mae, of Elton, Lonnie Pickett of Baytown, TX, Bobby Pickett and wife, JoAnn, of Lake Charles, and Jerry Pickett of Conroe, TX; three sisters, Beatrice Langley of Basile, Addie Mae Milligan of Bunkie, and Anna Lee LeBeau of Basile; five grandchildren and one on the way.
Marion is preceded in death by his wife, Stella Judy Pickett; and his parents, Shelton and Mattie Pickett.
