Reeves-Funeral service for Marie Marcantel, 93, will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, January 7, 2019, at the chapel of Creel Memorial Gardens.  Rev. Don Barrett will officiate.  Burial will follow in Creel Memorial Gardens under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home.

The family will receive visitors at the chapel of Creel Memorial Gardens on Sunday, January 6, 2019, from 2-5 p.m. Visitation will resume in the chapel on Monday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.

Marie was a loving mother and a friend to all.  She enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting, and all types of puzzles.  She was a member of the Family Place Church of Reeves, was a woman of strong faith and a great prayer warrior.  She enjoyed sending cards to everyone and staying "in touch."  Her family was very important to her.  Marie will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish Marie's memory include her daughters, Nancy Marcantel Elam of Reeves and Deborah Marcantel Chegwidden and husband, Lee, of Sarasota, FL.  She is also survived my numerous nieces and nephews.

Marie is preceded in death by her parents, Norvin and Nancy Green; three brothers, Stevens, John, and Phillip Earl Green; and three sisters, Thelma Wilson, Ethel Green, and Anita Mitchell.
