Elton-A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Margaret Guillory Langley, 61, 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at St. Paul Catholic Church. Rev. Marshall Boulet will officiate. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Elton.
The family will receive visitors on Friday, December 12, 2014 from 3-9 p.m at Ardoin Funeral Home of Elton. The Holy Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 8 a.m. until the time of service.
Margaret was a lifelong resident of Elton and lifelong member of St. Paul Catholic Church where she devoutly served as lector, cantor and choir member. She was a devoted wife and mother as well as a dedicated teacher of 23 years. Known for her kindness and patience, Margaret was a woman of strong faith who was always ready and willing to help her family as well as her church and community. She served as an Elton City Council member for 12 years and as Mayor Pro Temp for 8 years. She was also a member of the C.A.D.A. board. Margaret loved spending time with her family, loved to shop, and enjoyed teaching children. She had a beautiful positive attitude through even the darkest of days and was empowered with unbelievable determination to conquer all obstacles. The beauty of Margaret will live on forever through every person that called
her "friend". She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish Margaret's memory include her son, Wendel J. Langley and wife, Misty, of Vinton; her daughter, Ginger Wilson and husband, Chris, of Houston, TX; three brothers, Riley Guillory and wife, Nell, of Brazoria, TX, Arlen "Popeye" Guillory and wife, Ouida, of Bell City and Joe Guillory and wife, Debbie, of Kinder; four sisters, Velma Smith and Nell Doucet, both of Basile, Norma Cochran and Shirley Royer and husband, Joe, all of Iowa; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Margaret is preceded in death by her parents, Adley and Eva Guillory and her husband, Harold J. Langley.
