Obituary

Reeves-Funeral service for Mancel Reeves, 82, will be held at 1 p.m. on December 17, 2013 at Creel Memorial Chapel. Bro. Mike Sanford will officiate. Burial will follow in Creel Memorial Gardens under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.
The family will receive visitors on Monday, December 16, 2013 from 5-9 p.m. in Creel Memorial Chapel and will resume visitation at the chapel on Tuesday morning from 10 a.m. until time of service.
Mancel was a lifelong resident of Reeves, Louisiana. Mancel served our country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He loved bluegrass music. He also enjoyed fishing and loved to help others. He helped establish the Hope Center of Reeves and Ragley. Mancel was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 62 years, June Reeves of Reeves; two sons, Billy Reeves and wife, Susie of Reeves and Tim Reeves and wife, Therese of DeRidder; one daughter, Susie McDaniel and husband, David of Cedar Bluff, AL; one brother, Ray Reeves of Reeves; three sisters, Pearl Airhart of Reeves, Della Mercer of Dry Creek and Bonnie Price of Reeves; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.
Mancel is preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Eudora Reeves; one son, Frank Reeves and five brothers, Jennings, Oliver, Eugene, Herman and Oscar Reeves.
If so desired, donations may be made in Mancel's memory to Creel Memorial Gardens or the Hope Center.
