Mom, (Mawzita) as we all knew her was a beautifully loved mom, grandmother and an amazing friend to all. If you heard singing you knew she was near. She loved to sing and did it loudly. Mamie loved to cook and feed the multitudes. She loved working in her yard and always had the most beautiful flowers. Highly energized, kicking that foot, she was always ready to serve coffee at any time, day or night. "Is the pot black?" Everyone knew her as Ms. New Orleans, because she sang I'm walking to New Orleans all day and all night. Now, she's walking the streets of gold. We'll love you forever, mom.
Those left to cherish Mamie's memory include her three sons, Gerald O'Brien and wife, Mary Anne, of Eunice, Tim O'Brien and wife, Amanda, of League City, TX, and Kevin O'Brien and wife, Kim, of Eunice; two daughters, Jackie Luquette and husband, Mike, of Missouri City, TX and Debbie O'Brien of Lafayette; nineteen grandchildren, Elizabeth, Jon, Christopher, Samantha, Allie, Jake, Scott, Jamie, Christina, Gabriel, Lauren, Leslie, Lyndsey, Nicolas, Jared, John Taylor, Max, Andre and Ceslie; thirty great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
