Rev. Johnny Wayne Smith will officiate. Malcolm will be laid to rest at Cryer Cemetery immediately following his services.

Malcolm Jerry Gilchrist Jr. was a loving son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend to all. He was an avid outdoors man and enjoyed turkey and deer hunting with his brother and cousins, always worried someone would steal his prized hunting spots. Malcolm was a “joker” and enjoyed giving his nieces and nephews a hard time. He was a very giving person, always willing to lend a helping hand when needed. Malcolm was a very kind and caring person and will be forever missed and unconditionally loved by all who knew him.

Those left to cherish Malcolm’s memory include his mother, Eva Gilchrist; step father, Bruce Miller; brother, James Gilchrist and wife Tina; three sisters, Christie Strother and husband Rusty, Crystal Soileau and husband Tim, and Melinda Gilchrist LeJeune; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Malcolm is preceded in death by his father, Malcolm Gilchrist Sr.; his brother, David Gilchrist; and brother in law, Mark LeJeune.

Condolences and expressions of sympathy may be shared with Malcolm’s family at www.ardoinfuneralhome.com or on Facebook at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.
