Elton- Funeral mass for Mr. Malcolm Austin Bertrand, 80, will be held Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at 2p.m. in St. Paul Catholic Church. Father Marshall Boulet will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Elton.
Visitation will be Monday from 5pm-10pm with a rosary at 7p.m. and will continue Tuesday from 8a.m. until time of service.
Mr. Bertrand was a resident of Elton, WWII Navy Veteran, lifetime member of Knights of Columbus, Sons of St. Paul, American Legion, La. Cattleman's Association, Elton Mardi Gras Association & East Allen Parish Water District Association. He was a retired Postmaster & a retired Farmer. Mr. Bertrand passed away Monday, May 21, 2007 in his residence.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Julia DeRosier Bertrand of Elton; seven sons, Dwight Bertrand & wife Julie of Elton, Roderick Bertrand & wife Kaki of Elton, Byron Bertrand & wife Ginger of Kingwood, TX, David Bertrand & wife Lorraine of Elton, Wendell Bertrand & wife Julia of Elton, Scott Bertrand & wife Kara of Pineville; Philip Bertrand & wife Kim of Elton; daughter, Jacqui Moore & husband Robert of Roanoke; sister, Ilva Bryant of Rayville; 21 grandchildren & 8 great grandchildren.
