Oberlin- Funeral service for Major Thomas Lynn Davis, 54, will be held Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at 10:00AM in Oberlin Baptist Church. Rev. Wade McAleece and Chaplain March will officiate. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Reed Cemetery in Oberlin.
Visitation will be held Tuesday in Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder from 12noon until 11PM. Visitation will continue Wednesday in Oberlin Baptist Church at 8AM until time of service.
Thomas Lynn Davis passed away Friday, July 30, 2010. He lived most of his life in Oberlin and was a graduate of Oberlin High School. Mr. Davis was employed by Allen Correctional Facility (GEO) where he was a Major. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by his mother, Ms. Addie Davis of Oberlin; his only son, Ben Davis and Fiancé Jessica Janneck of Chalmette; two grandchildren, Zoe Davis and Logan Davis also of Chalmette; his companion, Shirley Fontenot of Oberlin; his aunt, Florence Roy and husband Anthony Roy of Iowa; uncle, Robert Davis & wife Carolyn Davis of DeRidder.
He is preceded in death by his father, Reuben Davis.
Mr. Davis will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
