Oakdale-Graveside services honoring Maggie Willis, 99, will be held at 1 o'clock p.m. on Saturday afternoon, September 28, 2024, at Occupy #1 Cemetery in Pitkin. Rev. Greg Willis will officiate. All of Maggie's arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale.
Maggie was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a devoted wife to her husband C.D. Willis for many years until his passing. Maggie resided in Alexandria, LA, with her husband for many years and then moved to Washington, IL where she would reside with her daughter. Maggie loved to shop and enjoyed having her hair "fixed". She had a huge heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand to her family and friends. Maggie loved and adored her family and cherished every memory she made with them. She enjoyed painting as well as bowling where she was an active member of a bowling league. Maggie was a wonderful person full of love and compassion and will be forever missed and unconditionally loved by all who knew her.
Those left to cherish Maggie's memory include one son, Milton Willis, and wife Melissa, one daughter, Joy Dotson, and husband Ben; two sisters, Girlie Thompson, and Melia Strother; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family member and friends.
Maggie is preceded in death by her husband, C.D. Willis; her parents, Scott, and Celia Johnson; two sons, Clifton, and Billy Willis; four brothers, Elbert, Mitchel, Pete, and Elton Johnson, and one sister, Mollie Doyle.
