Obituary

Kinder-A Mass of Christian Burial honoring Lula Marie Cole Prudhomme will be held at 2 o'clock p.m. on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Kinder. Rev. Fr. Alan Trouille will officiate. Lula's family will host a private inurnment service at St. Michael's Cemetery in Kinder at a future date.

Lula's family will accept friends and visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder on Thursday, January 18, 2024 from 12 o'clock noon until time of service with the Holy Rosary being prayed at 1 o'clock p.m. All of Lula's arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder.

Lula Marie Cole Prudhomme was born on February 26, 1944 in Elton and was a loving, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was a faithful wife to her husband Irving "Hoppy" Prudhomme for 62 years. She was a faithful and devoted member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Kinder all of her life where she served as a Lector. Lula worked hard her entire life in the Kinder community. She was a member of the Meritorious 4th degree Knights of Peter Claver Ladies of Grace. Lula served on the board of Head start, the board of the Kinder Housing Authority and a Member of the Allen Parish N.A.A.C.P. where she served as the Secretary.  Lula loved and adored her family and cherish every moment she spent with them. She also loved to bake, sew, and shop. Lula was a very kind and caring person and will be forever missed and unconditionally loved by all who knew her.

Those left to cherish Lula's memory include her four sons, Trodd "Troy" Irving Prudhomme and wife Darlene, Travis Gerard Prudhomme, Thedrick "Teddy" Perry Prudhomme, and Taurian "Tari" Kohl Prudhomme; one daughter, Tamara "Tammy" Nicole Mitchell and Husband Paul; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren, and one half-sister, Jacquelyn Dorsey.

Lula is preceded in death by her husband, Irving "Hoppy" Prudhomme; and her parents Perry and Willa Lee Deville Cole.
