Kinder-Funeral service will be held for Lucille Soileau, 87, on Monday, February 7, 2011 at 2PM at First United Pentecostal Church of Kinder. Rev. T.L. Smith will officiate. Burial will follow in Green Oak Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.
Visitation will begin on Sunday, February 6, 2011 from 3-8PM in Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder and will continue on Monday, February 7, 2011 from 8AM until time of service.
Lucille was a lifelong resident of Kinder and was a member of First United Pentecostal Church where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the Ladies' Auxiliary. She worked for over twenty years in the clothing and retail business. She was also a gifted seamstress. She loved to make ceramics to give to her family and friends. Lucille was a devoted wife of over 69 years. Not only did Mrs. Lucille and Mr. Dudley raise their own family but, they were also foster parents to numerous children over the years. She was a loving mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her two daughters, Juanita Soileau Smith and husband, Buford of Kinder and Donna Soileau Newberry and husband, Dale Papworth of New Orleans; four grandchildren, Ken and Becky Smith and Lisa and Kelly Newberry; one great grandson, Cody Duplechain; and two great-great grand daughters, Harley and Hannah.
Lucille is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Lena Fontenot as well as her husband, Dudley Soileau.
