Kinder-Lubert "Lou" Sattler, 89, passed away at 8:08 p.m., Wednesday, October 16, 2019, in Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center Lafayette, Louisiana. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder. Rev. Don Barrett will officiate. Burial will follow at Carter Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.
The family will receive visitors beginning Saturday, October 19, 2019 at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home from 9 a.m. until time of service.
Lou was born October 15, 1930 in Church Point and reared in Prudhomme, Louisiana. After attending elementary school in Richard he attended Church Point High School. He earned a GED following his military service. Lou was a veteran who proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. While serving in the
Army, he learned the Morse Code. After his years of service, he was employed by Missouri Pacific Railroad for two years in which time he worked in telegraphy using the Morse Code. Later, Lou worked in the family business managing Sattler's NAPA Auto Supply in Kinder for 25 years. Lou was a "helper" by nature. He used his mechanical skills and other gifts to assist people in their time of need. Lou and his brothers and sisters had a very close bond throughout their lives. They enjoyed traveling together, with their spouses, and fishing together. Lou was a loving husband, dad, grandpa, step-dad and step grandpa. He enjoyed barbecuing, air shows and the love and devotion of his beloved, overweight dogs, Harley and Jolly.
Those left to cherish Lou's memory are his wife of 39 years, Jessie Sattler, of Kinder; four sons, Glenn Sattler (Dale) of Pioneer, James Sattler ( Dot) of Fenton, Marcus Sattler ( Marla) of Richard and Bryan Sattler; brother, Donald Sattler, of Eunice; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; step-daughters, Kathi Rye of Austin, Texas, Sonni Bentley (Dale) of Lake Charles, step-grandsons, Timothy Rye II ( Sarah ) of Austin, Texas, Mark Bentley ( Erin) of Lake Charles and 5 step great grandchildren.
Lou was preceded in death by his parents, Curry and Lydia Sattler; one daughter, Connie Sattler Kibodeaux; four brothers, Phillip Sattler, James "Buddy" Sattler, Kelly Sattler, Richard Sattler; and two sisters, Cecelia "Sis" Sattler Frey and Loise "Totsie" Sattler Babineaux.
