Obituary

Oberlin-A Mass of Christian burial honoring Louise Guidry Darbonne, 84, will be held at 10 o'clock a.m. on Saturday morning, November 23, 2024, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Oberlin. Rev. Fr. Pradeep Gali will officiate. Louise will be laid to rest at Oaklin Springs Cemetery in Oberlin immediately following her services.

Louise's family will receive friends and visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oberlin on Friday afternoon, November 22, 2024, from 4 -8 o'clock p.m. with the praying of the Holy Rosary at 6 o'clock p.m. Louise's visitation will resume at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oberlin on Saturday morning, November 23, 2024, from 8 o'clock a.m. until time of service. All of Louise's arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oberlin.

Louise was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a faithful and devoted wife to her husband John Jerry Darbonne for 56 years until his passing in November of 2013. Louise was a faithful member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Oberlin. She loved and adored her family and enjoyed entertaining them while hosting get-togethers at her home. Cooking was one of Louise's most favorite passed times as well as having her grandchildren over for sleepovers.  She also loved to travel and see the country and visiting with her best friends. Louise was a kind and caring person and will be forever missed and unconditionally loved by all who knew her.

Those left to cherish Louise's memory include two sons, Scott Darbonne and wife Patricia "Lynette", and Toby Darbonne; four brothers, Richard Guidry and wife Barbara, Dennis Guidry and wife Linda, Gary Guidry and wife Cora, and Larry Guidry, two sisters, Barbara Hill, and Earline Minnis; six grandchildren, three great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Louise is preceded in death by her husband, John Jerry Darbonne; her parents, Hammie and Marise Guidry; three brothers, Curtis, Tommie, and Oris Guidry, and one sister, Hazel Guillory.
