Lou Anna was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Egbert, until his passing. She worked for Allen Land and Title Company for fifty plus years to help provide for her family. Lou Anna was the most giving, kind, independent, selfless person you would ever come across. She would drop anything she was doing to help others; always putting everyone else before herself. She was always feeding everyone in Oberlin. She was very proud of her Catholic heritage. Lou Anna was a member of the Ladies Alter Society, St. Joan of Arc Rosary group, as well as the Chamber of Commerce. She enjoyed playing cards and games of all kinds and loved her flowers in her yard. Lou Anna cherished spending time with her family and friends. She was especially proud of her two great granddaughters. Lou Anna will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Those left to cherish Lou Anna's memory include her son, Carl McGee and wife, Lori, of Moss Bluff; daughter, Brenda Patin and husband, Howard, of Carencro; brother, Marlin Manuel of Gretna; two grandchildren, Carlin McGee and Jay McGee and wife, Ami; and two great granddaughters, Skylar and Kaitlyn McGee.

Lou Anna is preceded in death by her parents, Linus and Mary Manuel; husband, Egbert McGee; and two brothers, Wilson "Toby" Manuel and Lawrence Preston Manuel.

The family would like to say a special thanks to the staff at St. Frances Nursing Home and Brighton Bridge Hospice for taking such wonderful care of Lou Anna. Also, a big thanks to her special friends, whom she referred to as "The Girls" who were always there for her.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Hospital or a charity of your choice in Lou Anna's memory.
