Loriena Guillory January was the eleventh child born to the union of the late Angelo Guillory and Ophelia Pete Lavan. She was born in Oberlin, Louisiana on November 11, 1938. After her childhood she would meet and marry the love of her life, Vallin "Zoop" January where they shared a bonded union in Holy Matrimony for 35 plus years until death did them part. As a teenager, Loriena attended Carver High School in Kinder, Louisiana. She would later attend Sowela Technical Community College in Lake Charles, Louisiana where she graduated with a Nursing Assistant certification.  In Loriena's earlier years, she would work various jobs. She then moved to Lake Charles, Louisiana and went to work for W.O. Moss Regional Hospital. Loriena volunteered in the Senior Grandparents Program, and the Pink Ladies program at Women's and Children's Hospital as well as volunteering at Brighton Bridge Hospice. Also in her younger years, she volunteered her time as a softball coach for young girls in the community.  Loriena was a woman of many talents, she enjoyed using her crafting talents at a Neighborhood Center for children where she would teach them how to knit, crochet, and embroider. She accepted Christ at an early age and was always excited to attend church. She was a faithful and devoted member of True Faith Pentecostal Church in Oberlin.  Loreina was affectionately known as "Mama Reno" and was the "community mom" everywhere she lived.  She opened her home to many in need throughout the years. "Mama Reno" enjoyed cooking, crafting, getting her hair done, and traveling, but most of all, she loved family gatherings. She loved to spend time with her family and cherished every moment she spent with them and was well loved by many. Loriena will be unconditionally loved and forever missed by all who knew her.
