Indian Village-Funeral service for Lorie Bushnell Savant, 87, will be held Monday, December 23, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Indian Village Pentecostal Church. Rev. Terry Bushnell and Rev. Carroll Bushnell will officiate. Burial will follow in Indian Village Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.
The family will receive visitors at Indian Village Pentecostal Church on Sunday, December 22, 2013 from 4-8 p.m. and will resume visitation on Monday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.
Sister Lorie was a lifelong resident of Indian Village and member of Indian Village Pentecostal Church. She was a prayer warrior all of her life. She stayed in constant prayer for her family as well as those who were sick. She sang in the church choir and played the guitar when she was young. She was a devoted wife of 25 years, loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved taking care of her family. Sister Lorie enjoyed cooking and gardening and helping others. She enjoyed being with family and friends on a daily basis. She was known in the community as the "coffee lady." Sister Lorie will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include her two sons, Ellis Savant, Jr. and Troy Dale Savant, both of Kinder; four daughters, Louise Fontenot and husband, Jack of Kinder, Bobbie J. Long and husband, Larry of Meadville, PA, Marilyn Savant of Kinder, and Gwen Chapel of Etoile, TX; five brothers, C.A. Bushnell and wife, Bernice of Reeves, R.V. Bushnell, Chester Bushnell and wife, Jean, Rev. Carroll Bushnell and wife, Linda and Buggy Bushnell, all of Kinder; two sisters, Claudia Dean Miller and husband, R.C. of Kinder and Ollie Shuff and husband, John of Iowa; 11 grandchildren; and, 23 great grandchildren.
Sister Lorie is preceded in death by her husband, Ellis Savant; her parents, Roman and Elizabeth Bushnell; one brother, Titus Bushnell; four sisters, Viola Savant, Vergie Bushnell, Gerthnell Walston and Ruth Langley; and Joyce Savant Paxton Bushnell, who was like a sister to her.
