Kinder-Funeral service for Lola Winnie Jordan, 74, will be held at 10am on Friday, March 23, 2012 at Kinder Bible Church. Rev. Robert Jones will officiate. Burial will follow in Kinder McRill Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.
Visitation will begin on Thursday, March 22, 2012 from 5-8pm in Ardoin Funeral Home. On Friday morning, the visitation will continue at Kinder Bible Church from 9am until the time of service.
Lola and her husband, Jim, traveled extensively throughout his military career, having lived in Germany for several years. They later came to Kinder to care for Lola's parents. At that time, she worked for the American Press as a newspaper carrier, in health care as a food service worker, and was an Avon representative, as well.
She was an active member of Kinder Bible Church. She loved the Lord and read her Bible daily. She also enjoyed working in her yard. Her passing will create an absence in the heart of many who knew and loved her.
Survivors include one niece, Angela Longoria and husband, Roger of DeRidder; one nephew, Steve Self and wife, Stacey of Lafayette; three great nieces, Stevi Longoria of DeRidder, and Stephanie and Kelli Self of Lafayette; two great nephews, Shane Longoria of DeRidder and Scott Self of Lafayette; and, one brother-in-law, ST Self of DeRidder.
Lola is preceded in death by her husband, James R. Jordan, Sr.; her son, James R. Jordan, Jr.; her infant daughter, Elizabeth Jordan; her parents, Claud L. and Ruth Sconce Mangum; and, her sister, Ruth Self.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in her memory to Kinder Bible Church.
