Obituary

Oakdale-Lois Thompson Maricle Wiley, 90, entered eternal rest on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at a Beaumont care facility. Celebration of Life services honoring Lois will be held at 10 o'clock a.m. on Monday, January 22, 2024, at Freedom Baptist Church in Pitkin. Rev. Jeff James and Rev. Greg Hillman will officiate. Lois will be laid to rest at Occupy No. 1 Cemetery in Pitkin immediately following her services.
Lois's family will receive friends and visitors at Freedom Baptist Church in Pitkin on Sunday evening, January 21, 2024, from 3-9 o'clock p.m. Lois's visitation will resume on Monday morning, January 22, 2024, from 8 o'clock a.m. until time of service. All of Lois's arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale.
Lois was born on May 9, 1933, in Elizabeth, LA to the union of Matt and Ethel Droddy Thompson. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a devoted wife to her first husband Earl Maricle Sr. for 20 years, and her second husband, Charles Wiley for 8 years. She was a faithful member of Freedom Baptist Church in Pitkin where she attended church regularly when she was able. She loved the outdoors where she enjoyed camping, and fishing. She loved and adored her family and enjoyed spending time with them especially during the holidays. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed watching television. Lois will be forever missed and unconditionally loved by all who knew her.
Those left to cherish Lois's memory include her two daughters, Brenda Bishop of St. Augustine, TX and Kathy Monk and husband Jimmy of Pitkin, LA; four sons, Earl Maricle Jr. and wife Iryna of Los Angeles, CA, Mike Maricle of Beaumont, TX, Randy Maricle of Scottsburg, IN, and Chad Maricle of Beaumont, TX; three sisters, Dovie Orr of Sherman, TX, Mavis Bullock and husband John of Garland, TX, and Edna Bass and husband Alton of Kinder, LA; one brother, Willie Thompson of Pitkin, LA; and a host of numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Lois is preceded in death by her first husband, Earl Maricle Sr., second husband, Charles Wiley; two daughters, Betty Vaughn and Ann Maricle; one son, Roger Maricle; one sister, Velma Hillman; four brothers, Earl, Herman, Cecil and Bobby Thompson; and her parents, Matt and Ethel Thompson.
