Linda was born January 18, 1944, to the union of Woodrow and Willie Mae Willis of Oakdale. She entered eternal rest on Friday, February 28, 2025, at St. Francis Cabrini Hospital. Linda was a resident of Anacoco. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to be with her family and friends. Linda loved all people and never met a stranger. One of her favorite pastimes was caring for her house plants and working in her garden. Her greatest joy was her family and being a caregiver to many. Linda also enjoyed going to the casino and eating snow crabs and crawfish. After Linda's first husband passed away, Linda met William Dowden, and they enjoyed 39 wonderful years together. She lived a happy and wonderful life and gave so much to many. As her family will miss her deeply, they will forever cherish the many memories of their time with her. Linda will be sincerely missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish Linda's memory include her husband, William Dowden; sons, Derrell (Tammy) Doyal, Ernest Lee (Mark) Doyal, Brian Doyal, and Bucky Dowden; daughter, Alisha(Arvin) Vielman; her special niece who was like a daughter to her, Angie Stoute; her special son-in-law, Alton; three siblings, Larry (Daurice) Willis, Betty Willis, and Judy (Roger) Tackett; granddaughters, Brandi and Hannah Doyal, Isabella Vielman, and grandson, David Vielman; great granddaughter, Ashlynn Hess; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
