Oberlin-Funeral services for Lester Gerlt, 90, will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oberlin. Sis. Renee Singleton will be officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Branch Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.

The family will receive visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Lester was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather. He worked hard as a handyman-from plumbing to construction to provide for his family. Lester proudly served in the United States Marines during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed fishing, being outdoors and most of all spending time with his family. Lester will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish Lester's memory include his wife, Yvonne Gerlt; son, Royce Gerlt and wife, Alyssa, of Oberlin; three daughters, Melissa Garrison and husband Mitchell, Tina Ingalls and Loretta Gerlt and husband, Larry Martin; sister, Mary; ten grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

Lester is preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Rachael Gerlt.
