Elton- Funeral service for Mr. Leroy Sylestine, 76, will be held Saturday, June 12, 2010 at 10:00AM in Ardoin Funeral Home of Elton. Rev. Nelson Celestine will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Luke Cemetery in Kinder.
Visitation will be Friday from 2pm-10pm with a singing service at 7pm. Visitation will continue Saturday at 8am until time of service.
Mr. Sylestine was a native and resident of Elton. He was the Pastor of Coushatta Revival Center for many years and an Army Veteran. Mr. Sylestine enjoyed to work which included mechanic work & farming. He loved his family and visiting with his friends.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Mrs. Zeline L. Sylestine; two daughters, Deretha S. Thompson of Kinder & Christine S. McGirt & husband Reggie of Elton; two brothers, Delson Sylestine of Orange,TX & Carl J. Sylestine of Elton; two sisters, Geraldine Reed & Susie Bond both of Elton; six grandchildren, Leland Thompson, Raynella Fontenot, Weldon Thompson, Raeann Thompson, Seth Reich, & Ali Sylestine; five great grandchildren, Gwyneth, Kateri, Avery, Aerwyn, & Marisol.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Della & Edward Sylestine.
