Lee, also known as "Papoose", was a loving dad, stepdad & grandpa.  For the majority of Lee's life, 30+ years, he lived in Galveston, Texas.   He worked for a laundry company, Exxon/ Mobil & Danner's in the maritime industry.   He often dealt with Immigration and Customs and he also did crew changes in the Gulf of Mexico.   Lee really liked that job because he was a "people person" and he loved all the stories he heard from the crew members. If you knew Lee, he always had stories to tell and share with everyone; passing on his wisdom and experiences.   And, he always had an opinion on any subject.

Over the years after he retired, Lee became a "home body"; he loved cooking and sharing his recipes.  Lee also made sure to stay in touch with all his family and friends in the best way he knew-using social media and texting. "Mr. Facebook" himself would post a comment to everyone DAILY with a "GM" (Good Morning), a weather update and "Trash Day" updates. This will truly be missed by ALL his friends and family. Lee was also a "ladies man" and loved his Cajun music.  And, he was definitely an animal lover, as well.   You would never see him without his trusted dogs, Snoopy and Kiki.  Lee will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish Lee's memory include his two sons, Christopher Fontenot, Sr. and Lee Fontenot, Jr; grandchildren, Christopher Fontenot, Jr. & Kristin Fontenot, Sadie Grimes, Alexis Thomas and Jennifer, and Leigh Ann and Kristian Fontenot; numerous nieces and nephews;  and close family friends, Benita and Angela Fontenot.

Lee is preceded in death by his parents, Olide & Carrie Fontenot; brothers, Paul Fontenot, Carl Fontenot, Harry Fontenot, Olide Fontenot, Jr; and his sister, Kathleen Fontenot.

The outpouring of love and support from dear friends and the community has humbled and honored Lee's family. It is an appropriate tribute to Lee, who had a generous heart for everyone he knew.
