Lawrence "Nuddy" Woods

Elton- Funeral service for Mr. Lawrence "Nuddy" Woods, 80, will be held Saturday, August 8, 2009 at 11 AM in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Father Maxwell will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Elton.

Visitation will begin on Saturday, from 9 AM till time of service.

Mr. Woods was a resident of Elton. He died on Tuesday, July 28, 2009 in Jennings. He worked in Construction for 50 plus years and was a member of Union #207. He was a member of The Knights of Peter Claver. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping. Mr. Woods had a great love for the outdoors, raising cattle, and a love for his church. He always put his family first and put no exception before them.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Leona Mitchell Woods of Elton; five sons, Alvin Woods and wife Cynthia of Kinder, Charles Woods of Lake Charles, Jackie Woods and wife Patsy of Elton,Al Woods and wife Phyllis of Elton, and Patrick Woods of Elton; three daughters, Melba Stokes and husband Sterling Stokes, Sr. of Orlando, FL, Connie Gatewood and husband Rev. James Gatewood of Sulpher, and Trudy Ann Woods of Elton; one brother, Junius Woods and wife Alice of Elton; two sisters, Elzena Cole of Lake Charles and Ida Woods of Lake Charles; 19 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren.
