Lawrence was a loving husband to his wife, Belinda, for fifty-three years, as well as a loving father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a lifelong resident of Oberlin and a lifelong member of Christ Church of Oakdale. Lawrence worked on a dredge boat with Mike Hooks, drove a gas truck and was the retired fire chief for fire district 5 after many years of volunteering and dedication. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and gardening; but more than anything he enjoyed being around his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish Lawrence's memory include his wife, Belinda Kelly; daughter, Candi Veazey and husband, Artis Jr., of Oberlin; two sisters, Anita Sonnier and husband, Alton, of Oberlin and Bonnie McNabb of Oberlin; four grandchildren, Justin and Brandon Kelly and Braden and Krista Veazey; five great grandchildren, Blaze, Tanner, Connor, Ash and Alora Kelly; one step-granddaughter, Kayla Shuff and husband, John, of Oakdale; and three step great-grandkids, Daxton, Lorie and Jamie Shuff; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Lawrence is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Famie Kelly; son, Lawrence Ray Kelly, Jr.; sister, Wanda Kelly; great granddaughter, Addilyn Kelly; and brother-in-law, John McNabb.
