Oberlin- Funeral service for Mr. Larry Joseph Montou Sr., 70, will be held Saturday, January 10, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in New Beginnings Assembly of God Church in Oberlin. Father Michael Barras will officiate. Burial will follow in Reed Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.
Visitation will be held Friday in New Beginnings Assembly of God Church from 5pm-10pm with a scripture service at 6:30pm. Visitation will continue Saturday at 8am until time of service.
Mr. Montou was a native and resident of Oberlin. He enjoyed Hunting & Fishing. Mr. Montou passed away Thursday, January 8, 2009.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Kathryn Montou of Oberlin; two sons, Larry "Joey" Montou & companion Emily Davis of Ragley, John Eric Montou & wife Rhonda of Fort Worth, Texas; two step-daughters, Sharon Garza & husband Pat of Grand Lake, Barbara Savant & husband David of Kinder; one brother, Clifford Montou & wife Dorothy of Oberlin; one sister, Louwilda "LuLu" Manuel of Oberlin; 8 grandchildren; a host of nieces & nephews.
Mr. Montou was Preceded in death by his parents, Wilber & Alma Montou; brother, Roger Montou.
