LaJuan spent the last 4 years of her life living with Ashley, but very close to Miechael and her husband Calvin. The first day of her move she and Miechael spent the afternoon making strawberry jelly and discussing all the wonderful memories that forever will be cherished. LaJuan continued to travel going on vacation to Pensacola, Florida, Hot Springs, Arkansas, and spent a week at Toledo Bend. One of her favorite things was when her daughter in law Theresa came to visit. They shared many memories often talking for long hours about gardening, cooking, and family members long gone. Her second favorite visitor was Calvin. He always had some lude joke for her that she couldn't wait to hear. Regardless of how late he may be running he always made time to spend a few minutes with her. Lastly her son Arthur, he always came with her favorite foods and spent the day laughing and joking with her.
Miechael and Ashley want to thank her caregivers that have been a huge help over the last two years. Aunt Laura Faye, Debbie, and Theresa. Most recently Danielle and Devin who although they never knew her before becoming ill, they have taken very good care of her. Her hospice team Texas Total Care and most especially Sandy Corley RN, Kayle White LVN, Nicole, Kathy and Brenda her aides. Also, much appreciated is Brother Scott and Sister Kathy and other members of Oak Grove Assembly of God church. Once going to church became too difficult many visits to pray and sing were made to the house and Grandma always enjoyed those visits.
Serving as pall-bearers are Calvin, David, B.J., Trenton, Dalton, and Arthur. Honorary pallbearers are Zane and Kayne.
