Oberlin-Funeral service will be held for Kenneth O. Hebert, 74, in Oberlin Baptist Church at 2pm on Monday, February 11, 2013. Rev. Leon Fontenot will officiate the service and burial will follow in Durio Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home.
The family will receive visitors at Oberlin Baptist Church beginning Sunday, February 10, 2013 from 4-9pm and will continue visitation on Monday morning from 8am until time of service at the church.
Kenneth was a life-long resident of Oberlin. He served as an Allen Parish Police Juror for over 20 years and was a self-employed contractor, as well. He was a loving husband, dad and grandfather. He was extremely proud of his children's accomplishments, especially their college educations. Kenneth enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting. He looked forward to his Wednesday night suppers at the Castor Hunting Club Camp with many friends. He also enjoyed gardening and his livestock. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Shirley Dean Hebert; two sons, Kirt Hebert of Lafayette and Luke Hebert of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; one daughter, Carla Guillory and husband, Daniel of Oberlin; one brother, Gwin Hebert and wife, Chyralan of Oberlin; five grandchildren-Hope, Stone, Samantha, Matt and Savannah; and three great grandchildren-Dylan, Roddey and Greyson.
Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents, Elda and Burrell Hebert.
