Oakdale-Homegoing services honoring Karen Coker 70, will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at 10 o'clock a.m. at Light House Church of Oakdale. Rev. Jerry Odom, Rev. Robbie Rollins and Rev. Shannon Buxton will officiate. Karen will be laid to rest at Hopewell Cemetery in Pitkin immediately following her services.
Karen's family will receive friends and visitors at Light House Church of Oakdale on Friday, November 10, 2023, from 5-10 o'clock p.m. Karen's visitation will resume at Light House Church of Oakdale on Saturday morning, November 11, 2023, from 8 o'clock a.m. until time of service. All of Karen's arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale.
Karen was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a hard worker and loved to help people. She worked for Home Health as well Buddy's IGA Grocery Store as a secretary for many years. Karen was a faithful and devoted wife to her husband A.C. Coker for 40 years. She loved attending garage sales and helping at the First Baptist Church Thrift Store where she worked for several years. The Thrift Store was her "happy place". Karen was a faithful member of Light House Church of Oakdale where she was active in prayer meetings and Women's Ministry. She loved her church and never missed a service. Karen will be forever missed and unconditionally loved by all who knew her.
Those left to cherish Karen's memory include her husband, A.C. Coker; one son, John Mack Curry Jr. and wife Kimberly; one step son, Curtis Coker; two daughters, Onita Faye Littleton and husband Chad, and Monica Lynn Smith and husband Jeremy; three step daughters, Pam Doyle, Jennifer Roberts, and Joan Stalsby; one brother, Mike Owens; four sisters, Mary Shepphard, Tanya Bigelow, Theresa Tradewell and Kimberly Owens; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Karen is preceded in death by her parents, James Bennie, and Doris Price Owens; and one stepson, Marlin Coker.
Pallbearers honored to serve are Alston Townsend, Chad Coker, Connor Coker, Curtis Coker Jr., Luke Coker, and Ethan Buxton.
