Glenmora-Funeral service for Julius E. Burnett, 80, will be held on Monday, July 9, 2018 at 2 p.m. in Harmony Baptist Church.  Rev. Robbie Rollins and Rev. Oliver Dean will officiate.  Burial will follow in Science Hill Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale.

The family will receive visitors at Harmony Baptist Church on Monday morning beginning at 10 a.m. until time of service.

Julius was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.  He was a member of Harmony Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.  He was an electronic technician, a "Ham" radio operator, and enjoyed gardening.  Julius loved bream fishing-no bass fishing allowed in his boat!  His favorite times were those spent with his church, family and friends.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wonderful wife of 56 years, Alice Gill Burnett; five sons, T.J. Burnett and wife, Tressie, Gill Burnett and wife, Kathie, Luke Burnett, Brent Burnett and wife, Nancy, and Blaine Burnett and wife, Tanya; one sister, Frances Gauthier; 13 grandchildren; and, 18 great grandchildren.

Julius is preceded in death by his parents, Arther and Blanche Burnett; one son, Trent Burnett; two brothers, Nolin and Lynel Burnett; and one sister, Marie Eaves.
